One observer described the emerging aftermath of Hurricane Sandy as looking like “a war zone.” Photos and video now pouring onto the web tell the heartbreaking story of the scope and magnitude of Hurricane Sandy’s wrath and destructive power. Tentative early estimates of overall storm damage costs run into the high tens of billions of dollars for starters.
The jarring snapshot of New York City’s fleet of well known yellow cabs sitting in standing water up to their headlights was particularly striking. [ See photos below. ] The entire front half of a large apartment building in NYC sheered off and crashed to the street, exposing the interiors of the apartment units. NYC city officials received more than 7,000 reports of downed trees. NYC residents wandering the streets to survey the damage have queried “Weather Channel” news reporters asking them when the NYC buses and subways will open again. The reporters had no answers for them, obviously.
In Union City New Jersey a two story house perches raggedly after being split in half. The entire right side of it was sheared away in an instant by the hurricane storm surge.
More than 88.2 million people may still be without electricity on the upper east coast in New Jersey, New York State, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Rhode Island, Delaware, New York State and New England. Power may not be restored in many regions for more than a week. In Rhode Island entire beach houses were washed away and disappeared into piles of rubble during the storm. 43 feet of Rhode Island coastline vanished completely during the storm. It’s gone. 73% of Maryland residents are without electric power. 1.1 million are without power in Pennsylvania. In Appalachia severe snow storms have brought a blanket of white to mountain regions weeks ahead of when heavy snows would usually begin. More than 2 feet of snow has fallen in parts of West Virginia.
Rivers on the upper east coast are cresting at anywhere from 8 to 14 feet above flood stage. As I compile this post flood water and sand is still pouring into city blocks in Atlantic City which are well away from the oceanfront. Many buildings on the Atlantic City oceanfront boardwalk have been utterly destroyed. Others have huge holes blown through them where flood waters surged in when the Sandy made landfall. Fires from exploding electrical transformers broke out in many regions. More than 80 homes burned to ash in Queens NYC, an entire city block.
Criminal courts in NYC will be closed on Wednesday October 31st. Mayor Bloomberg is asking all NYC city workers to report for work if they are able to get there. They are needed. Schools remain closed in NYC. Schools will re-open in Washington D.C. on Wednesday October 31st. The Weather Channel reports that JFK Airport will be open to incoming flights tomorrow on October 31st. All other NYC airports are presently flooded out with extensive wind and water damage. Flood waters have poured into the NYC subway system. NYC subways are closed. There is limited if any taxi service. La Guardia airport is still closed and will remain closed tomorrow.
The storm’s effects are being felt all the way to Chicago as gale force winds and pummeling rain extend well into the upper Midwest. 20 foot high waves are crashing onto the shores of Lake Michigan today. As far west as Indiana thousands are still without power. Hundreds of homes on the east coast have been literally swept off their foundations.
The storm’s damage is so widespread and extensive it’s difficult to grasp it fully right at this moment. I will let the collected photos tell the story. Many of these will be re-published in video form later this week. This hurricane Sandy photo page will be updated all week.

Nihilistic thinking abounds in early 2011. Two opposing belief systems now predict the same “end of the world’ this year.
What’s up with the mass death wish?
Is something approaching that is so dire, that many would rather die than face it?
As two seemingly opposing spiritual forces who don’t know one another, never agree, and fight like cats and dogs, look at what both the new age movement and fundamentalist Christianity are now touting: both belief systems are now predicting the end of the world as we know it in 2011. What’s one to make of such a thing? I just watched the video described below, and need to inform my readers, that the world will not end in 2011, neither will it be burned to a crisp, as displayed in the video.
But the solar super storms which are flying our way sure could play havoc with planetary communications systems. It might be a good idea to have several sets of walkie talkies around with an extra bag of batteries, if you need to stay in touch over short distances of 12 miles or less and live in a flat open valley region. Just an fyi.
As for “end of the world” thinking, I’m not sure what to make of it other than the most recent mass Nihilist dream of an immature species spinning out of control. Seeking escape from the responsibilities of spiritual adulthood through death is a very teenage thing to do, and it seems that these days that’s exactly what humanity is doing, dreaming of escape through death. I find it all quite interesting, but I do not believe for one minute that the world will end in a fiery wave of incineration this year, or next year, or the year after, and so on. The end of the world has been predicted before, many many times, with just as much vigor and conviction. It was predicted right before the century turned in 1999. In 1194 Gordon Michael Scallion predicted more than half of the USA would be under water by the year 2000.
There is not a doubt in anyone’s mind that humanity is convulsing and the earth is shaking, more than usual. But the “end of the world” 2011 madness actually runs afoul of biblical teaching itself, which again and again reminds us that regarding the many prophesied events detailed in scripture, “no man knows the hour” and that trying to predict these events is the height of folly. That folly has been proven out again and again since the early advent of the Christian church.
Epic Fails Regarding Christian Predictions That Never Took Place, Historical List:
Failed prophecies: About 30 CE: The Christian Scriptures (New Testament), when interpreted literally, appear to record many predictions by Yeshua of Nazareth (Jesus Christ) that God’s Kingdom would arrive within a very short period, or was actually in the process of arriving. For example, Jesus is recorded as saying in Matthew 16:28: “…there shall be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.” In Matthew 24:34, Yeshua is recorded as saying: “…This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” Since the life expectancy in those days was little over 30 years, Jesus appears to have predicted his second coming sometime during the 1st century CE. It didn’t happen. More details.
About 60 CE: Interpreting the Epistles of Paul of Tarsus literally, his writings seem to imply that Jesus would return and usher in a rapture during the lifetime of persons who were living in the middle of the 1st century. More details.
About 90 CE: Saint Clement 1 predicted that the world end would occur at any moment.
2nd Century CE: Prophets and Prophetesses of the Montanist movement predicted that Jesus would return sometime during their lifetime and establish the New Jerusalem in the city of Pepuza in Asia Minor.
365 CE: A man by the name of Hilary of Poitiers, announced that the end would happen that year. It didn’t.
375 to 400 CE: Saint Martin of Tours, a student of Hilary, was convinced that the end would happen sometime before 400 CE.
500 CE: This was the first year-with-a-nice-round-number-panic. The antipope Hippolytus and an earlier Christian academic Sextus Julius Africanus had predicted Armageddon at about this year.
968 CE: An eclipse was interpreted as a prelude to the end of the world by the army of the German emperor Otto III.
992: Good Friday coincided with the Feast of the Annunciation; this had long been believed to be the event that would bring forth the Antichrist, and thus the end-times events foretold in the book of Revelation. Records from Germany report that a new sun rose in the north and that as many as 3 suns and 3 moons were fighting. There does not appear to be independent verification of this remarkable event.
1000-JAN-1: Many Christians in Europe had predicted the end of the world on this date. As the date approached, Christian armies waged war against some of the Pagan countries in Northern Europe. The motivation was to convert them all to Christianity, by force if necessary, before Christ returned in the year 1000. Meanwhile, some Christians had given their possessions to the Church in anticipation of the end. Fortunately, the level of education was so low that many citizens were unaware of the year. They did not know enough to be afraid. Otherwise, the panic might have been far worse than it was. Unfortunately, when Jesus did not appear, the church did not return the gifts. Serious criticism of the Church followed. The Church reacted by exterminating some heretics. Agitation settled down quickly, as it later did in the year 2000.
1000-MAY: The body of Charlemagne was disinterred on Pentecost. A legend had arisen that an emperor would rise from his sleep to fight the Antichrist.
1005-1006: A terrible famine throughout Europe was seen as a sign of the nearness of the end.
1033: Some believed this to be the 1000th anniversary of the death and resurrection of Jesus. His second coming was anticipated. Jesus’ actual date of execution is unknown, but is believed to be in the range of 27 to 33 CE.
1147: Gerard of Poehlde decided that the millennium had actually started in 306 CE during Constantine’s reign. Thus, the world end was expected in 1306 CE.
1179: John of Toledo predicted the end of the world during 1186. This estimate was based on the alignment of many planets.
1205: Joachim of Fiore predicted in 1190 that the Antichrist was already in the world, and that King Richard of England would defeat him. The Millennium would then begin, sometime before 1205.
1284: Pope Innocent III computed this date by adding 666 years onto the date the Islam was founded.
1346 and later: The black plague spread across Europe, killing one third of the population. This was seen as the prelude to an immediate end of the world. Unfortunately, the Christians had previously killed a many of the cats, fearing that they might be familiars of Witches. The fewer the cats, the more the rats. It was the rat fleas that spread the black plague.
1496: This was approximately 1500 years after the birth of Jesus. Some mystics in the 15th century predicted that the millennium would begin during this year.
1524: Many astrologers predicted the imminent end of the world due to a world wide flood. They obviously had not read the Genesis story of the rainbow.
1533: Melchior Hoffman predicted that Jesus’ return would happen a millennium and a half after the nominal date of his execution, in 1533. The New Jerusalem was expected to be established in Strasbourg, Germany. He was arrested and died in a Strasbourg jail.
1669: The Old Believers in Russia believed that the end of the world would occur in this year. 20 thousand burned themselves to death between 1669 and 1690 to protect themselves from the Antichrist.
1689: Benjamin Keach, a 17th century Baptist, predicted the end of the world for this year.
1736: British theologian and mathematician William Whitson predicted a great flood similar to Noah’s for OCT-13 of this year.
1792: This was the date of the end of the world calculated by some believers in the Shaker movement.
1794: Charles Wesley, one of the founders of Methodism, thought Doomsday would be in this year.
1830: Margaret McDonald, a Christian prophetess, predicted that Robert Owen would be the Antichrist. Owen helped found New Harmony, IN.
1832?: Joseph Smith (1805-1844) was the founder of the Church of Christ, which became the Restorationist movement after many schisms. It now includes The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints — a.k.a. the Mormons, and about a hundred other denominations and sects. He heard a voice while praying. He wrote, in Doctrines and Covenants section 130:
14: “I was once praying very earnestly to know the time of the coming of the Son of Man, when I heard a voice repeat the following:”
15: “Joseph, my son, if thou livest until thou art eighty-five years old, thou shalt see the face of the Son of Man; therefore let this suffice, and trouble me no more on this matter.”
16: “I was left thus, without being able to decide whether this coming referred to the beginning of the millennium or to some previous appearing, or whether I should die and thus see his face.”
17: “I believe the coming of the Son of Man will not be any sooner than that time.” 14
The year in which this event occurred is not recorded. However, one commentator suggested 1832 or earlier. 16 Smith is later recorded as having said:
“I prophesy in the name of the Lord God, and let it be written–the Son of Man will not come in the clouds of heaven till I am eighty-five years old.” 17
Smith would have reached the age of 85 during 1890. Unfortunately, by that year, Smith had been dead for almost a half century, having been assassinated by a mob. Note that his prophecy is ambiguous. It can be interpreted that: Jesus would return during 1890 (which did not materialize) or that
1890 would pass without Jesus’ return (which did come to pass).
Some anti-Mormon sources quote only verses 14 and 15, and draw the former conclusion — that Smith’s prophecy failed.
So just like any other teenager you have ever known, are they inclined to listen to wisdom? Of course not. Humankind is currently obsessed with predicting the year, month and day of it’s own final demise, even though the Holy Spirit has warned us, biblically, and repeatedly, not to do so.
I am well aware of a doom and gloom American Christian sect which is now predicting the “end of the world” on May 21st 2011 of this year, and I have listened to a radio interview by one of their representing believers. What I have found unusual this morning is a contemporary “new age channeled” video which, it appears, is saying something quite similar. Below is the video, along with several others along the same theme.
What breaks my heart the most about these dire predictions is the certain inevitable buffeting and further discrediting which will fly at Christianity once the day comes and goes on 5.21.2011, as any other day in God’s universe does, and absolutely nothing happens. There may be a terror attack, or another riot in the Mideast, there may be a rash of earthquakes, but the world will NOT end on that day. Christianity will become a deeper laughing stock as the day ends, and the rise of the Antichrist will have been helped along a little bit more by the folly and foolishness of groups of Christians who believe they are right, and instead are dead wrong. That’s what bothers me about this the most.
Posting these collected videos below is neither an endorsement or a denial. I am simply posting the current “end of the world” mass death wish religious phenomenon for readers to examine. This “death wish” of humankind’s is getting worse, and I am wondering why. Right now I am not ready to write about my own conclusions on this topic, so I will post examples of the phenomenon for others to consider.

A site guest asked this question recently:
“What is the objective criteria used to discern who is the Antichrist and also, how will those who await Christ’s return recognize Him when He returns? Many failed to recognize Him 2000 years ago in Palestine.”
The first coming of Christ as Jesus of Nazareth was as a simple, humble but spiritually brilliant man among men, the Son of God – God revealing himself to men through the incarnation of His Son. The Second Coming of Christ will be in a glorious and spiritually powerful supreme manifestation from Heaven, accompanied by the myriad Heavenly Hosts, the ultimate spiritual armies of heaven. This Second Coming is described in many places in the Bible.
I would like to emphasize regarding the actual Second Coming, that no global advertising campaign will be needed. No holograms, no Norway Spiral, no artificial HAARP blue beam trickery, no YouTube videos, no speeches by Benjamin Creme will be needed either. The Supreme spiritual authority of Jesus Christ as the Alpha and the Omega, the actual true King of Kings and Lord of Lords, needs no earthly advertising or promotional media campaigns to prop it up.
What we are all being given in the next few decades is one final and last opportunity to make the ultimate one and only final, right spiritual choice. To choose eternal life is to surrender to the supremacy of of the Heavenly Father’s vast universe creation, and to also submit one’s soul to the loving authority of His reigning Son in our local universe creation, Lord Jesus Christ. The only requirement for this ultimate universe adventure in Spirit to commence is Faith. Modern christians often refer to this moment of soul decision as becoming “born again” of the Spirit. That moment is where the ultimate spiritual adventure of eternity actually really begins.
The soul admits that it is not the highest authority in knowing how to direct it’s own highest spiritual destiny, and calls out to God for help, thus commencing an age-long spiritual learning process in which the soul is carefully, tenderly and thoroughly tutored over time by the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Truth as to who Jesus Christ actually is as the Creator-father of our local universe creation. One also may realize along the way in this journey that the Holy Bible is a highly sophisticated, ancient, “divinely coded” document that contains the instructions for unlocking one’s highest spiritual destiny, IF one knows HOW to read and approach the hidden grandeur interlaced within it’s verses.
I predict this long prophesied world spiritual event called “The Second Coming” will actually occur in less than 45 years, but I MUST warn readers: Maitreya IS NOT this long prophesied Second Coming. He is the final world imposter. He will become the final Son of Perdition. He will enter into his world leadership role through peaceful flatteries. He will not actually be revealed for the monster he is until his world reign has been established for several years.
Revelation 19: 11-18
Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Rev 19:12 His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Rev 19:13 And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Rev 19:14 And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
“For the testimony of Jesus is in the Spirit of Prophecy…” Revelations, 19:10
If you are a “Maitreya” supporter, and worried about what you are learning, then you are most definitely beginning to ask the right spiritual questions.
This is the age of world deceit, and age of veiled motives, masked true spiritual identities, where we MUST question those who pretend to lead us spiritually, for evil men are everywhere in high positions of power, they work in all the world’s governments, they will mislead the public with impunity and specific intent, and they do not have our best interests at heart in their leadership. These are the terrible facts and we must now face them as a world population. We must collectively begin to call out, not to Maitreya, but to the Heavenly Father, for spiritual guidance on how to proceed.
The Discernment of the Spirit is a spiritual manifestation of the Holy Spirit and worldwide Spirit of Truth which was bestowed upon humankind at Pentecost, continually at work deep within the soul.
True spiritual discernment is acquired over time, through diligent prayer and true soul level worship of God the Heavenly Father over a lifetime. It is not acquired in a weekend workshop, a high priced new age retreat, or even by sitting in a Native American sweat lodge. Ask the former followers of James Arthur Ray – see what they now have to say about it.
“You will know them by their fruits.”
Trying to apply the empirical male model of the logical scientific protocol to the Discernment of Spirits is like dissecting a living frog in a Petri dish with sharp blades in order to observe it’s living heart beating, i.e. the very act of dissecting the object inevitably kills the object and renders the examination null and void. Prayer and the soul’s inner attunement to one’s own Inner Light has a lot to do with the Discernment of Spirits. The inner light is felt through the intuition, the deeper soul emotions, and personal spiritual conscience. The soul is a living fountain of real wisdom which knows right from wrong, good from evil, truth from falsehood. But it cannot lead us if we do not listen!
Your soul has the inner wisdom to solve this riddle. Prayer can unlock that wisdom.
You just do not like the answers you are getting because they may disagree with what your peers [or someone somewhere] is urging you to do. Else you would not be back here again, [and I welcome you!] asking the very same question I replied to a couple of weeks ago. Am I right?
Sometimes we want the answers to be complex, and hard, when they are really quite easy and simple. Your soul is eventually going to reveal to you the truth about this man, Maitreya. God Wills it so. I don’t believe God would will that you continue to be this confused about someone.
Are you a Maitreya supporter, quite invested, now trying to figure out what to do?
If that is the case, then let or allow God show you what to do. Surrender your will to His Will. Just surrender, and then listen. It takes as long as it takes, and sometimes it takes years to ascertain God’s Will on a given thing. It is not part of the “immediate gratification” culture. Stop chattering and arguing with your own soul about this question [Is it "live" or is it Memorex?] and listen to your own soul’s wisdom – it’s in there.
Many skeptical truth seekers in our time are determined to apply a western logical empirical male scientific laboratory model to something which cannot be ascertained using empirical laboratory science protocols.
For example, you cannot actually prove to me intellectually by any means that a strong wind is blowing outside your home right now, yet if it is true, and you have experienced that strong wind, you can tell me about it, and I can either choose to believe you, on faith, or disparage your re-statement of the facts. Your report to me could be substantiated by my obtaining a local weather report for your region. I can either choose to believe your weather report, or question it.
So what I am doing in essence, in my blogs and writing and essays, is giving my readers a “spiritual weather forecast” for the next 15-45 years, which they can choose to believe, or disregard. Humankind has a choice here. Freewill is involved. Follow the final spiritual counterfeit, or wait it out in faith and prayer for the One and Only True Original in our Universe, Our Returning Creator Son, Jesus of Nazareth. Our real King of Kings is NOT Maitreya, is yet to come, and He absolutely will return to earth to take His own in and settle the score in 35-45 years or less. We have to prepare our souls and our world for His actual and real Second Coming. We must not be taken in by the final counterfeit with his myriad false signs and wonders.
Accept no spiritual counterfeits of any kind!
The current spiritual weather forecast for planet earth in these next 15 to 45 years is “world spiritual fraud”, that is the grim and predestined forecast that all bible students know and comprehend MUST take place for the fulfillment of scripture and the working out of God’s final mysteries on earth. But just like the problematic “counterfeit numismatic coin” – only a numismatic expert can tell the counterfeit from the original. Millions of innocent souls may be doomed to accept this counterfeit world messiah – this “Maitreya” – as the real Son of God, because they lack the inner development called the Discernment of Spirits – spiritually, acquired over a lifetime [or lifetimes] which would give them the proper “spiritual weather report” on Maitreya. They need to turn away from him NOW, not later.
Many lost souls may be suffering under the burden of utter spiritual unpreparedness, having never spent a single day in their lives, many of them, stopping to consider the deeper questions of God, life, death, life on other worlds, spiritual faith, the existence of Absolute Real Diety, the purpose of their owne soul’s existence, and/or what has actually taken place on this world in the past 200,000 years.
FYI to my readers, The Lucifer rebellion took place 200,000 years ago, not just 5 or 6 thousand years ago. See the Urantia Book for substantiating documentation, cross reference with your Bible verses and scripture to see how references to this ancient spiritual holocaust affected our world and have appeared in biblical scripture.
If I spend my life in front of a computer screen [which I mostly do, now, at this time, of necessity] and then one day I suddenly decide to become a thoroughbred race horse jockey… I walk into the stables, saddle and mount a horse and try to race it in the next big race, how far do you think I will get? Nothing in my life experience would have prepared me to race thoroughbred horses in this example, [racing a horse.]
So I lack the experience and training and would not get much farther than the paddock gate. I would most likely fail at horse racing, don’t you suppose, without the proper preparation?
By the same token, this present generation – with certain exceptions – is unprepared for this! [the coming apostasy] They have been raised on computers, ipods, fractured families, gangs, MTV, television, porn, gambling, consumerism, pop culture, video games, Hollywood celebrities, Nascar, and fast food. They scorn churches for good reasons, churches have failed people left and right as pastors have sinned and failed their charge in many very highly publicized “epic fails” since the TBN era of the 1980s. An entire generation of young people now disdain all organized religion and would rather be Wiccan, Pagan, vampires, or secular humanists than anything else. Ask any pastor and he or she will tell you I am right.
The “church” is not a building, or a pastor, or a book. It is the citadel of the living God directed soul.
True spiritual hunger is arising out the ashes of the death of organized religions, which are either lost, corrupted, mistaught, misstating, or just flailing.
Many young people now care much more about what is going on on American Idol than they do whether a man in London will soon pretend to be the Christ returned before the whole world in order to pave the way for secession of nations’ sovereignty and the establishment of a Luciferic world government. For the most part, they just plainly do not care, as long as their next 15 minutes of immediate gratifications are satisfied.
Am I right? Of course I am.
I have been spiritually “reading and observing” the strange spiritual “weather” or atmosphere on this world for a very very long time, more than 28 years. If I were to tell you my life story you would not believe it. The kinds, types, and varieties of both human and spiritual evil that I have already met, faced, ascertained, and conquered would turn your hair snow white.
What have you been doing for the last 28 years? Were you training for the final spiritual race, the final ultimate test of the endurance of your faith in God [so to speak] or doing what everyone else is doing, and idling away your life with mostly meaningless pursuits? We watch and we marvel as a great nation now sinks into mediocrity, and pettiness such that grown men now engage one another with the disposition of pre-teen adolescents in view of the world. It’s all over the TV.
To work and earn a living is never a meaningless pursuit, to write, to express, to create art, to give something of worth to one’s culture, but to spend one’s life obsessed with TV personalities and what Hollywood celebrities do with their lives, is point blunt psychosis and societal madness. These are the times we live in. The criteria then, to be used in determining whether a man is Christ-like or embodies the spirit of Antichrist, is more subjective than objective.
However, once this man – [whoever he turns out to be - because they have switched him now, at least once, and they may switch him again in their cowardice] - is turned loose with a certain amount of the world’s attention, UN authorization, and TV media adoration upon him, [remember TV media Obama-mania in 2008?] based on the media campaign they are now crafting to continue to “sell him to the world population”, he will eventually let loose hell upon this world, after initiating a season of faux fleeting peace, propped up by “covenants”.
His covenants will eventually turn to international blackmail. – The nations are forewarned here.
His mere presence in the international media will invite his followers to mock God, question their own faith, and to ridicule all things spiritually sacred. His evil is subtle but it is soul devouring.
The only thing we can do now is pray, build up our spiritual awareness, protect our families and communities, be more discerning and less gullible, guard our souls, be prepared for anything on the material plane, and by all means stop worshipping people and begin to worship God again. Do not put misplaced trust in human governments. They are going to soon fail, and fail catastrophically their sworn trusts to serve. It’s coming.
It’s really not rocket science. The United Nations cannot have an apostasy if no one buys it. It’s just that simple. Only God has the ultimate authority over the human soul. No man or United Nations, or government or human institution of any kind has the final authority of the soul of a human being, only the Author and Finisher of that soul has that authority.
I call that Presence God, some call it Higher Power, or even Great Spirit. Listen inside for that Spirit to show and lead you as to how to proceed.
Thanks again for your visit and good strong questions.
God bless and keep you, as always.

I would not usually write about topics unrelated to the theme of this blog, but the recent news about Chelsea King’s rape and murder has just devastated me and broken my heart. I live not too far from a small college town where every sunny day literally hundreds of youngsters, men and women are jogging, biking, walking and strolling through town on foot.
Although the local police do not like to publicize it, we have several unsolved murders here in town, and the young people here often seem oblivious to the dangers around them.
In recent years, hundreds, and then thousands of newly homeless people have arrived, camping everywhere, trolling the public parks, and sometimes sleeping indoors in the downtown local post office at night.
I had a very unpleasant run-in with a homeless man who was living in a state of rage over his circumstances one night when I showed up late to gather my mail from the post office. He was camped out indoors right under my box, and I literally had to step over him to open the box.
I saw that he weas awake and felt moved to offer him some kind words.
That turned out to be a grave mistake. As I was trying to tell him where the local homeless shelters were, he came up off the floor at me with absolute rage and the clear intent to assault.
I backed out the post office door, [I have not moved that fast in years] went straight to my parked car, got in and locked the doors.
So I am re-posting something here from one of my other blogs so that readers can order pepper spray for less than $15 or so, and I have here several choices. Feel free to re-post this info and also email it to your friends. Thanks!
