ICC Note: Last week 18 Christian converts in Iran were sentenced to prison for charges related to their faith. Many of them were arrested during raids on house churches in 2013. The total of the prison sentences handed down is nearly 24 years. While Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has claimed to be a reformed and has wanted to increase human rights, the number of Christians imprisoned has increased over the past year.
